People are like olive trees and when taken care of properly we bear good fruits, which can then be used to produce quality oil.
An olive tree is one of the strongest and oldest trees that can survive almost any condition. The fruits that come from an olive tree can be found in different colours such as pink, black, brown, purple or green. The roots of an olive tree run as deep as four feet, and they spread wide, which leads to it having many roots. The fruits that an olive tree bears may differ, according to climate change of that year and the location, yet even if the tree produces only 3% of olive fruits, it is still enough to produce that gold oily liquid call virgin olive oil that has many health benefits.
Just like humans we come in different shapes and colours, we are all over the earth, and even trying to live in space. We go through four seasons in a year, even in our personal lives, and depending on how you take care of yourself during these seasons, youll either survive or you wont. We spread all across the world like roots of an olive tree, traveling overseas for better opportunities with the little we have; we create empires, feed our families and share our knowledge. We all go through seasons, we can all bear fruits and the fruits we bear can be passed from generation to generation. However some olives are bitter, uneatable and some are sweet, delicious which makes them have great value. Mathew 7:17 (NIV) Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. Which Olive tree are you?
It all begins with your root. Is your firm foundation Christ or the world?
Colossians 2:6-7 (NIV) So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness. If your foundation is the world then I greatly doubt you'll survive 2020 in one piece. There is a global Pandemic, the economy is crashing, people are lonely because movement is limited, and basically everything the world has worshiped is irrelevant. It's easy to start complaining and get depressed and start blaming God or the government etc. but it's not going to change the situation. If your firm foundation is Christ Jesus, even when the world seems to be falling apart, you have faith because you know the God in the good times is still God in bad times and nothing happens on Earth without God's permission. You might not know the reason behind it but be rest assured of God's protection. He is the rock of your salvation. Psalm 62:6-7 (NIV) Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken. My salvation and my honor depend on God; he is my mighty rock, my refuge.
Do you spend time in the presence of Christ, growing in the Word, praying?
Ephesians 6:18 (NIV) And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lords people. We live in a generation where were truly favoured by God with the amount of information we can get using technology. Many people struggle to understand the Bible but there are many books online, sermons, blogs that can help you understand the word of God, even with all this information available, don't just take someone's opinion and make it your own. Spend time asking God questions to get your own understanding, God always answers but you might not always like the answers. Jeremiah 33:3 (NIV) Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.
When the winter season comes do wrap yourself up in Christ so can feel the warmth of his love?
Isaiah 41:10 (BEB) "Have no fear, for I am with you; do not be looking about in trouble, for I am your God; I will give you strength, yes, I will be your helper; yes, my true right hand will be your support."
When summer comes do you drink from the living water or expose yourself to the enemy because it's too hot?
Ezekiel 36:25 (BEB)" And I will put clean water on you so that you may be clean: from all your unclean ways and from all your images I will make you clean."
When springs comes and flowers are booming (everything is going well in your life) do you humble yourself to Lord or you're too good to go on your knees and pray?
Romans 12:3 (BEB)" But I say to every one of you, through the grace given to me, not to have an over-high opinion of himself, but to have wise thoughts, as God has given to everyone a measure of faith."
1 Peter 5:5 (BED) "And in the same way, let the younger men be ruled by the older ones. Let all of you put away pride and make yourselves ready to be servants: for God is a hater of pride, but he gives grace to those who make themselves low."
What about in autumn when leaves fall, everything seems to fail your relationships and friends disappeared. Do go back to your first love Christ or allow loneliness and depression to consume you?
Psalm 68:5-6 (BEB)" A father to those who have no father, a judge of the widows, is God in his holy place. 6 Those who are without friends, God puts in families; he makes free those who are in chains; but those who are turned away from him are given a dry land"
What you do throughout all these seasons determines the kind of olive fruit or olive oil you produce. Each season has its own challenges, some are more bearable then others. Know this; you are never alone, in your weeping and rejoicing. Yehsua is for you.
Even though Im comparing olive trees to humans, you are better than an olive tree. You know why? You have a soul, you are a living masterpiece and if you're comparing yourself to the olive tree in the wild. You have power to change the fruits you bear. 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIV) Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come. The old has gone the new is here! The first step to bearing better fruits is getting knowledge of the "Light", the Living Word (Salvation). Dont limit yourself, read different literature so your roots can expand far beyond your local setting. If you want to invent something, you need knowledge, to start a business, a job, be happy, to be a good parent or partner. If you want to do anything that will bear you good fruits you need knowledge, and it doesn't come from just listening to another person sharing their opinion about God, their talking from their knowledge 2 Timothy 4:2 (NIV) Preach the word, be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage-with great patience and careful instruction.
Seek God and you are guaranteed the Messiah will give you so much knowledge; you'll become a national treasure because youll bear fruits of peace (sweet) not war (bitter). Knowledge is Power. Deuteronomy 7:12-15 (NIV) If you pay attention to these law and are careful to follow them, then the Lord your God will keep his covenant of love with you, as he swore to your ancestors, He will love you and bless you and increase your numbers. He will bless the fruit of your womb, the crops of your land- your grain, new wine and olive oil- the calves of your herds an the lambs of your flocks in the land he swore to your ancestors to give you. You will be blessed more than any other people; none of your men and women will be childless, nor will any of your livestock be without young. The Lord will keep you free from every disease you knew in Egypt, but he will inflict them on all who hate you.
Turn the pressure during the seasons to Power.
