Finding your purpose is a struggle we all face, young, old, rich or poor. I struggled with finding my purpose for a long time because I was more focused on what was I good that could bring me income. As kids when we have career day or being adviced about different careers, the first question we tend to ask is: "how much money can I make", and rather then asking : "how can this career help me fulfill or find my purpose?". Today's youth is one of the most, depressed, unfulfilled and purposeless generation, yet we have access to all kinds of information and could actually be one of the most fulfilled generations.
Ulike many people I use to get extremely anxious when my birthday would get closer, and it wasn't because I didn't want to celebrate my birthday but I felt unfulfilled and sad that another year has gone by I still felt confused, I felt like I was taking up space but not in the Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi kind of way. I'm getting older but I'm still living without purpose without a vision, chasing material wealth that just drains me, mentally, spiritually and physically. Proverbs 23:4-5 (NIV) "Do not wear yourself out to get rich; do not trust your own cleverness. 5 Cast but a glance at riches, and they are gone, for they will surely sprout wings and fly off to the sky like an eagle."
There's an interview Dr Myles Munroe had with Benny Hinn :
Interviewed : " How do you know if your vision is from God?"
Dr Myles Munroe : " Thatd an important question, vision is not ambition, most people are driven by ambitions rather vision. A vision from God will never benefit you. When you get a vision from God it benefits other people, it makes them better it makes them profit, makes them succeed, makes them progress, it heals them, it blesses them. In others words a vision from God is never self centered, it's others centered.
I took sometime to understand what is Ambition and what is a vision:
What is ambition?
Dictionary: "(uncountable, countable) Eager or inordinate desire for some object that confers distinction, as preferment, honor, superiority, political power, or literary fame; desire to distinguish one's self from other people."
Bible :Philippians 2:3 (NIV) "Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves,"
What is vision?
Dictionary: "the ability to think about or plan the future with imagination or wisdom."
Bible :Proverbs 29:18 (NIV) "Where there is no revelation, people cast off restraint; but blessed is the one who heeds wisdom's instruction."

These are the few questions I asked myself before I could finally know my purpose. It it turned out to be giving to theess privilege and writing and all of this give Glory to God. For you it could your career, as a teacher, or artist, doctor, a creative, being a mother etc. Once you're in line with your calling from God, don't worry about the 5W's and H, God will definitely take care of that. Matthew 6:31-34 (NIV) "So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."
The way of a rightoues person is not celebrated and not easy because you'll be doing the opposite of what society celebrates, often times people will make you feel like a fool or unintelligent, not focused or ambitious. This is what the Lord says to them Matthew 7:26-27 (NIV) "But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash."
May Yashua lead you to your purpose.
